Behaviour

We aim to create pupils who are respectful, work hard, are independent and communicate well, by

using a behaviour curriculum that nurtures our school values:

Effort, Respect, Independence, Communication (E.R.I.C.)

Effort

  • I always try to do my best and work hard.
  • I try to challenge myself.
  • If I make a mistake, I don’t give up, I try again.

Respect

  • I can think about others feelings.
  • I can be kind and helpful towards others.
  • I can say please and thank you.
  • I treat people how I wish to be treated.

Independence:

  • I can look after my own belongings.
  • I set myself targets.
  • I can try to solve a problem on my own.

Communication:

  • I can look at the person who’s speaking
  • I can talk clearly to others, and explain my thoughts and feelings.
  • I can listen to what others have got to say.
  • I can wait my turn.

Children can earn a series of rewards, such as stickers badges and certificates, for demonstrating our core values.

If a child does demonstrate any negative behaviours, we work hard to understand the root cause and ensure that the child understands the consequences of their actions, with the aim that it is not repeated.

The following policies give a further outline on our work with behaviour:
